Guidelines for assessing Local History Competition Entries

Each question carries a maximum mark of 10 points

Judges: To be announced

For Group Entries

1.         Has the project achieved new knowledge about the county’s history in this field of research?

2.         Has the project achieved new interpretation about the county’s history in this field of research?

3.         Has this project helped to preserve one or more aspects of the county’s past?

4.         To what extent can this project be used to understand the present?

5.         To what extent has the work been published

            a) within the county?

            b) outside the county?

6.         How accessible are the results of the project to the public?

7.         To what extent have professional services been used?

8.         To what extent did the project fulfil its aim?

For Individual Entries

1.         Has the applicant provided new knowledge about the county’s history during his / her activities?

2.         To what extent can residents in, and visitors to, the county appreciate the applicant’s activities?

3.         Have their activities helped to preserve one or more aspects of the county’s past?

4.         To what extent has the work been published:

            a) within the county?

            b) outside the county?

5.         For how long and in what ways has the applicant been involved in promoting Worcestershire local history?

6.         To what extent has the applicant worked with other groups, societies, or individuals to promote Worcestershire Local History?

7.         To what extent has the applicant promoted Worcestershire local history?
