As part of our aims to encourage promotion of Worcestershire History & Heritage in 2015 we intoduced an annual Photographic competition.

Each year there will be a theme for the photographs to be submitted and judging will be based upon how well the photograph depicts that theme rather than the quality of the photograph itself.

The theme for this year is

 Windows of Worcestershire'

and the criteria for judging the submissions is given elsewhere on this page.

Elsewhere on this page you will also find details of how and when to submit entries, the timescale's for the competition and the announcement of the results.

An exhibition of entries will be held later in 2017 at the WLHF AGM. Details of the event will be announced later.

We hope that you will support this initiative, submit an entry and who knows, you may win!

Regardless of whoever wins, we believe that an exhibition of the entries will be an event not to be missed and will also provide a valuable contribution to promoting the heritage of Worcestershire.

Redditch, like Birmingham, was an industrial town with a thousand factories and workshops ranging from large victorian buildings to back garden sheds.

This photograph, taken just before the transformation of Redditch into a "New Town" typifies the industry of local craftsman ploughing their trade in the early 20th centuary.

This is a competition open to all members of WLHF member Societies and WLHF Individual Members.

It is not a technical photographic competition and judging will be on content not composition as given on the Judging Criteria page.

Therefore we are very keen to ensure that it is given wide promotion and that all those eligible are encouraged to enter.

Please support us to make this both a worthwhile exercise by promoting it amongst your membership.

To help you promote this competition within your society a copy of the promotional flyer can be downloaded by clicking here.
