Lest We Forget

On the 8th & 9th of November the village of Areley Kings is putting on a play called ‘Lest We Forget’ It tells the story of how at the end of World War 1 the small village of Areley Kings,  raised the £235 to build a stone wayside cross in memory of the 14 men from the village who had been killed. £235 sounds so little for a 32ft stone cross but in 1918 this was a huge amount of money.
